One of the owners of EVO, Oceania Marine, is undertaking the full refit and re-power of the 30M High Speed Ferry ‘Adventurer’. The project is being carried out in the huge modern construction shed, Shed A, located within North Shipyard owned by Oceania Marine.

The owners of the vessel have chosen to re-power with two Cummins V12 QSK38 engines rated at 1300hp each. It involves cutting out access holes in both sides of the vessel so that the old engines can be removed and the new ones fitted. This combined with new engine mounting and bearers as well as all the other ancillary work involved with a re-power makes this a highly technical and demanding project. Oceania Marine is carrying out all the works for the project ranging from project management to repainting and is expected to complete in 8 weeks.
